About Cheerful Solutions Explorer

Unofficial companion. This is an independent, volunteer-run site that augments discovery for readers of Reasons to Be Cheerful ↗. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by RTBC.

Our goal is to help people find related, replicable solutions faster—then click through to the original RTBC reporting.

No ads. No tracking pixels. No logins. We store only lightweight, on-device preferences (e.g., recent clicks) using your browser’s storage.

mdi-open-in-new

Link-out only

Every card features a prominent “Article” button that takes you to the original story on RTBC. Our short summaries are our own words and are meant to be transformative & navigational, not replacements.

mdi-shield-check

Respect for editorial & licensing

We follow RTBC’s republishing guidance and Creative Commons norms, and we’re happy to adjust attribution language or remove items on request.

How we align with RTBC policies

mdi-format-quote-close Attribution-first Each project page links to the original RTBC article. Preferred format: Source: Reasons to Be Cheerful — “{Original Title}”. mdi-image-off Images & media We do not republish RTBC photos. If images ever appear, they are our own, open-licensed, or used with permission. We will swiftly remove anything that causes concern. mdi-scale-balance Creative Commons aware Many RTBC pieces are CC-licensed; some are not or include third-party media. We keep excerpts short, keep summaries original, and avoid derivative reuse where not permitted.

Technical notes

mdi-web Built for discovery Vue + Vuetify SPA that clusters related stories and suggests similar items to help readers explore. mdi-timer-sand Lightweight & considerate Requests are cached and rate-limited; we aim to minimize load on upstream sources. mdi-link-variant Slug-based linking We link by WordPress slugs for clarity. If RTBC changes a slug, we remap when possible; otherwise a link may 404 until updated.

Contact, requests & collaboration

Questions, corrections, or takedown/change requests? We’ll act promptly. If RTBC prefers specific credit language, taxonomy, or a different feed, we’re happy to implement it. We can also add UTM parameters so RTBC can measure referral traffic.
